There are many ways you can help RMS Students and Staff:
Reading and Math Tutoring for English learners: Ms. McVicar requests volunteers to work one-on-one with English learners in her ELD classes. Volunteer tutors would provide extra support with reading and basic math for these students. Available days are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during periods 5 and 6 (1:15-3:15 PM). Training will be provided for anyone interested in helping, whether regularly or sporadically.

Make a Donation to Donors Choose Projects: Please consider making a donation to Mrs. Hassan and Ms. Vinnard’s Donors Choose projects to enhance RMS student learning. Mrs. Hassan is looking for support to provide new manga titles to the library; Ms. Vinnard is asking for science materials to learn about light waves.
Afterschool Pick-Up Zone Volunteers: We still need afterschool pick-up zone supervisors to continue providing safe pick-up for our students Monday through Friday! Please sign up to assist with a shift.
RooFriends Parking Fundraisers for Spring 2023: The Japanese Friendship Garden’s Cherry Blossom Festival in Balboa Park is a BIG opportunity for the RMS Community to raise much-needed funds for education enrichment programs for our Students and Staff. Please volunteer for the RooFriends Cherry Blossom Festival Parking Fundraiser this Saturday and Sunday (March 11 & 12, 11AM – 2PM). Just 12 volunteers could earn thousands of dollars. RooFriends goal is to raise at least $15,000 by June 2023!
Can’t make it this weekend? There will be additional weekend dates coming up this Spring – check your calendar and sign up for upcoming shifts through the end of the school year.
Submit the CA Parent Survey: Please complete the California School Parent Survey for Roosevelt. This survey is confidential and provides valuable input to the school administrators from the parent perspective. We need more participation!
