Tuesday, Feb 21: Music Assembly for Orchestra and Band Students
In partnership with La Jolla Music Society Education & Engagement, RooFriends Music Boosters and RMS Music Director Mr. Elias Kocivar welcome the Aris Quartett for a Music Assembly for all Orchestra and Band students and a Masterclass for Orchestra students (both advanced and beginning levels).
- 6th Period: All instrumental music students report to the Auditorium for the Aris Quartett concert.
- 7th Period: All Orchestra students will participate in sectionals led by the Aris Quartett musicians. Band students dismissed.

From Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the Aris Quartett has received some of the most prestigious international awards for young musicians including the Chamber Music Prize of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation, prizes at ARD International Music Competition, New Generation Artists by the BBC, ECHO Rising Stars by the European Concert Hall Organization and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. The ensemble also devotes itself to cross-genre projects, including with the jazz pianist Omer Klein. They have also placed a special focus on contemporary music.
RMS Families and Staff are invited to attend the Aris Quartett concert.

2nd Semester 6th Grade Music Field Trip
SDUSD Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) invites RMS 6th Grade Music students to a Digital Music experience:
iPad Music Ensemble Concert
- February 22, 2023 at Mira Mesa High School.
- Students and Chaperones will be transported to/from MMHS in buses.
- Chaperones: Check-in at School Office at 9:00 AM, then report to the Music Room / Auditorium to meet with Mr. E.K. Return to RMS by 12:30 PM.
- Chaperones will accompany students to/from Mira Mesa HS via buses and supervise them at the MMHS venue under the direction of Mr. EK, RMS Music Director.

- If you have already completed and submitted your SDUSD Volunteer form, you’re qualified!! Please sign-up to chaperone.
- Submit the online SDUSD Volunteer Application Form as soon as possible. Forms are also available in the RMS Office.
- The School Administrative Assistant Ms. Hernandez (shernandez4@sandi.net) and Nurse Keesee (ckeesee@sandi.net) are available to help you through the application process. Nurse Keesee is on campus Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
