Dear Roosevelt International Middle School Families and Community,
I am so excited to introduce myself to you all as Roosevelt’s new Vice Principal.
Having served the San Diego Unified School District for over 25 years in various roles, starting as a Teacher’s Aide, Special Educator, to Site-Based Leader and now in the Central Office, I am eager to take on this new endeavor. Because of my roles in the Central Office, and as a former Roosevelt Parent, I have had the privilege to work with the school community and am very aware of your values and priorities. I truly believe my values as an educator align with yours, including my knowledge, experience and areas of expertise in Special Education, Restorative Justice Practices, Anti-Bias/Anti-Racism, Family & Community Engagement, Student-Led change-making, and Culturally-Responsive pedagogy.
As a Roosevelt Parent, I was always so impressed by the care, engagement and expertise of our Teachers; I can’t wait for the opportunity to work and learn alongside them!
We are still working on the details of my exact start date as I transition out of my current role with the Department of Youth Advocacy. In the meantime, please know that as of now, I am here for you, so please feel free to reach out anytime. I look forward to meeting and serving you all and the Roosevelt Community very soon!
Ciria Brewer
Vice Principal, Roosevelt International Middle School
