Happy Mother’s Day to all the Roosevelt Moms! I hope you all enjoyed the day with your families. Even though I am always thankful for my mom and all she has done for me, it’s great to pay special thanks to amazing women.

- State testing is here, starting Monday! Please be sure your children restart their computers to receive updates, and make sure they charge their chromebooks every night!

RMS Music 1st Place Awards at “Music in the Parks!”
- Congratulations to BOTH the RMS Jazz Band (Video) and the Advanced Orchestra (Video)for winning first place trophies in the “Music in the Parks” Festival in Orange County, CA! 8th Grader Oslo Treviño also took home the 1st Place award for Outstanding Soloist (trumpet). Bravo to our musicians!
- Thanks to Mr. EK and Mr. Fish for challenging their music students to reach this level of accomplishment.
- After competing against schools from all over California, they celebrated their victories with a fun day together at Knott’s Berry Farm. All sponsored by RooFriends Music Boosters!
Roosevelt Takes 3rd Place in the 2023 WilWin Games!
- Thanks to Coach Courneya and Coach Martinez for organizing a team of student athletes to represent Roosevelt at the 2023 WilWin Games. Our Roosevelt Team did an amazing job competing in the various races, challenges and obstacle courses.

It’s SHOWTIME! Roosevelt MS Theatre Company (RTC) Presents The Addams Family RTC Spring 2023 Musical … one last time!!
- Our Theater Club put on two great shows on Friday and Saturday! Please join me at the final show this Monday, May 15 at 4:00 PM. If you missed the weekend shows, this is a great opportunity to see our talented, risk-taking student actors perform this wacky comedy on stage. If you already saw the show, you’re welcome to see it again!
- May 15 showtime: ALL students, teachers, staff, family & friends are invited. RMS Auditorium doors will open at 3:45 PM for open seating for the 4:00 PM show.
- RTC is generously sponsored by RooFriends AfterSchool Enrichment (ASE). Shows are FREE; no tickets. Donations Welcome.
- NOTE: On Monday, RMS Beginning Band and Jazz Band will be dismissed early at 3:45 PM for the opportunity to attend the show.
Flag Football Update
- Congratulations to our boys Flag Football team for winning their final two games of the regular season! Our girls team finished their season strong with a win, too! Great job, girls! We’re awaiting an update to the Flag Football playoffs schedule. Great season!

- Before TV & comic books, there was Kamishibai (kami = paper; shibai = theatre). In this Japanese storybox style “street theater” storytelling tradition, a storyteller reveals a series of illustrations contained in a storybox as the narrative unfolds.
