RMS Class of 2025 at 6th Grade Camp, Cuyamaca Outdoor School

Greetings, Roosevelt Families!

I hope you have all had a relaxing Spring Break. This week, I am excited to welcome all our students back for the final 10 weeks of school!!

Welcome back to our 6th Grade Campers who spent their Spring Break together at Cuyamaca Outdoor School. A special thank you to the 6th Grade Camp Coordinator and Chaperones who organized this opportunity for our 6th Graders!

Thanks also to the Friends of Roosevelt Foundation for offering financial aid for camp tuition. Please consider supporting student opportunities like 6th Grade Camp (and more!!) by volunteering for the RooFriends Parking Fundraisers coming up on April 8 & 15. We need just 4 more volunteers to staff each of these two Saturdays.

Sports Updates

Flag Football tryouts this week for students who registered.
- Monday and Wednesday, 3:34 – 5:04 PM: Registrants meet at the lunch tables before heading to the field.
- See email from SDUSD MS Athletics for more information.
ALL SDUSD middle school students are invited to the “Flag Football Kickoff” with the L.A. Chargers THIS Saturday, April 8, 10 AM – 12 PM at Madison HS.
- Register and submit the waiver to participate.

8th Grade Field Trip to San Diego HS: “Caver for a Day” Tour.

Field trip this Wednesday April 5, 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM: Volunteers welcome! Walk with our students or meet them at San Diego High School.

7th Grade Meeting: Annual Trip to Boston, New York City and Washington D.C. 2024

All 7th Grade students and families are invited to the zoom meeting to learn about the 2024 East Coast Trip (ECT): Tuesday, April 4 at 6:30 PM.

RMS Music Update

Learn more about RMS Music via the annual “Give the Gift of Music” online campaign next week April 10 – 15 with daily “RMS Music Spotlight” stories about 6th Grade Music, Orchestra, Band, Jazz and Music Boosters.
April 22, 11 AM – 12 PM, RMS Auditorium: Save the Date for the “Music for a Lifetime” Community Concert with musicians from RMS Orchestra, RMS Feeder Schools, SDHS and AmateurPianists.org. FREE, donations welcome. 4/22 Core Academy students will attend this RMS cultural enrichment curriculum event.

Core Academy Saturday School | Attendance Reporting

The remaining Core Academy dates are: 4/8, 4/22, 5/6, 5/20, 6/3. Please sign-up.
Students who attend Core Academy on April 22 will attend the “Music for a Lifetime” concert hosted by RooFriends Music Boosters and AmateurPianists.org.
