RMS Winter Sports Update
Congratulations to both our Boys and Girls Soccer Teams who won their first two games last Saturday! RMS Volleyball Teams competed hard as well, with our Girls Volleyball splitting their first two matches and Boys Volleyball in two close contests.
Support RMS Teams this upcoming Saturday, January 28!! RMS Soccer will be at San Diego HS. RMS Volleyball will be at Patrick Henry HS. Game results and schedules can be found on the SDUSD MS Athletics website.
SDSU | SDCOE Girls & Women in Sports Day 2023: Saturday, Jan 28.
SDSU Athletics and the San Diego County Office of Education offer FREE TICKETS for all SDUSD K-8 students, chaperones and teachers to the January 28 SDSU Aztec Women’s Basketball game. Pre-game activities begin at 11:30 AM; game time is 1:00 PM. SDSU hosts this annual event to support Title IX.

SignUp for Student Safety
Thank you all for helping us work toward a smooth after school dismissal. Every day in the Zoo lot we are seeing the majority of families exit the lot within 10 minutes. Please keep moving forward toward the Zoo fence and have your students meet you on that far side. This helps prevent backing up on Zoo Drive. Thank you for making the safety of our students a priority.
Field Trips
- 6th Grade Field Trip: January 27th. 6th grade students will have the opportunity to attend a field trip to see Plays By Young Writers. At Roosevelt this year we are prioritizing good citizenship and have made students aware that eligibility for field trips and other rewards come with being good citizens on campus. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
- 8th Grade Field Trip to San Diego Zoo Coming Soon. We are in the planning stages for our 8th grade trip to the Zoo, more information coming.
- Complete the online SDUSD Volunteer Application to chaperone for field trips. Contact Ms. Hernandez in the RMS Office for assistance: shernandez4@sandi.net.
VOLUNTEER for RooFriends Presidents Holiday Parking Fundraiser.
- February 18 & 19, 11 AM – 2 PM. Just TWELVE volunteers needed!!
- Please sign-up to support RooFriends-sponsored programs for RMS Students and Staff.
ASB Weekly Announcements
- Winter Chill Out – music, games, food – is this Friday, January 27th from 3:30-5:00 pm.
- Student sign-ups are open for students to attend. The form is in the Weekly Student Life Announcements Slideshow.
- ASB is looking for FOUR MORE volunteers to help at the Winter Chill Out.
RMS Families in Need
- We have received numerous donations of food and clothing, please stop by the office or email me for more information.
- Please consider supporting the RMS Families In Need Year-Round Campaign to help provide groceries, school supplies and more.
