Spring 2023 AfterSchool Enrichment Program (ASE)

Speaking of Performing Arts …

Roosevelt MS Theatre Company (RTC) invites the RMS Community to participate in the RTC Spring 2023 Show Survey. Students, Families, Teachers and Staff are welcome to submit responses to influence RTC’s future show offerings, better serve performers and win-over audiences. RTC enrollment is open via the Spring 2023 ASE Application.

GOOD LUCK to the RMS Music Students who begin Honor Band and Orchestra rehearsals today!! Six students will be representing RMS in the SDUSD VAPA Honor Ensembles Concert on February 4.

SDUSD VAPA Honor Choirs Auditions and Applications are DUE FRIDAY, JANUARY 13. 7th and 8th Graders are invited to submit recorded auditions for Treble and Tenor-Bass Honor Choirs. Students do not have to be enrolled in a school music program to audition. Weekly rehearsals begin January 24 with the Honor Choirs Concert on March 4.

SUPPORT RMS Students and RTC Alumni in the Cast and Crew of the upcoming San Diego Junior Theatre “Edgar Allan Poe’s Gruesome Gallery of Grotesquerie” next door in Balboa Park. Opening Night is this Friday the 13th, 7:00 PM; the show runs January 13 – 22 (2 weekends, 6 shows). This play is an example of “devised theatre” created from scratch by the Cast, Crew and Directors … inspired by the literary works of Edgar Allan Poe.  This play is recommended for theatre-goers ages 10+.  If you like the Netflix show “Wednesday,” this might interest you.
