A Message from Principal Steinberger (Oct 2, 2022)
Greetings, Roosevelt Families!
We have had a busy few weeks at Roosevelt! It is amazing to me that we have arrived at the last week of Progress Report Period 1. This Friday, October 7th, is the last day of the grading period. Grades will be available in PowerSchool by Friday, October 14th.
I want to remind everyone about the IB philosophy about grading (covered on slides 7-10 from last month’s Principal’s Town Hall). An important note is that an ‘A’ correlates with a 7 or an 8 on our IB grading scale, which also correlates to ‘Exceeds Expectations’. It is challenging for students to exceed expectations in one class, let alone all classes, so please keep this in mind as you review your child’s grades.
We will also have our Student Led Conferences in person this year, which we are excited about. This will be an opportunity for your child to share and discuss their learning with you. More information will be shared in the next few weeks, but definitely mark your calendars for October 26 and 27, as that is when parents and guardians will be invited to participate with their children on campus on those afternoons.
Late Start THIS Wednesday, October 5: School will begin at 9:30 am for students and will end at the same time as a regular school day, 3:14 pm. NO ZERO PERIOD CLASSES on Wednesday.
Makeup Picture Day Thursday, October 27: We will send passes to students who were absent.
Fall After School Enrichment (ASE): It’s Week 2 of Fall ASE!! If your child will not be attending their scheduled class(es), please email clubsroosevelt@gmail.com as soon as possible. If your child does not attend this week’s ASE class without an excused absence, they may be permanently dropped from the roster for Fall. RooFriends is happy to provide these classes free of charge to students, however, please remember they are paid for by donated funds. If there is not enough attendance in a given class, that class may be canceled.
Site Governance Team (SGT) Meeting Thursday, October 6, 4 PM.
Site Governance Team (SGT) helps develop policies and procedures at Roosevelt.
All meetings are public and will be held over Zoom using this link. If anyone would like to attend with me in person, please let me or our office staff know ahead of time.

- COVID Testing will be Monday afternoons from 12-3 PM.
