For the Roosevelt IB MS Community and Feeder Schools: RMS Music shares a special offer from our Cultural Education partner, San Diego Symphony Learning & Engagement Department.

As Roosevelt is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, RMS Music follows the IB Music model, offering students the opportunities to explore the world through the diversity of music and encourages their creativity through musical composition and performance art.

THIS SUNDAY!! 09/04, 7:30 PM: Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis

Under Music Director Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra performs rare historic compositions to Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned works, including compositions and arrangements by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman and Charles Mingus.
This concert will be performed without intermission.
6:15 pm: The Young Lions Jazz Conservatory

Led by Grammy®-winning pianist and composer Arturo O’Farrill, the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is a transnational project to bring the people of the United States and Mexico together through music that prompted an album, book and documentary, Fandango at the Wall inspired by the annual Fandango Fronterizo festival at the Tijuana-San Diego border.
There will be no Intermission in this 90-minute performance.

A concert celebrating the 45th Anniversary as Mexico’s most important female voice. Aida Cuevas is joined by Mariachi Aztlán and Mariachi Los Camperos. Cuevas was awarded the 2018 Grammy for Best Regional Mexican Music Album, the first woman who received the award.

ALL $10 San Diego Symphony Community Access Tickets are BRIDGEVIEW L/R REAR Seats.
Click on the provided San Diego Symphony concert links and enter the Promo Codes to select your Community Access tickets. Each concert has its own unique Promo Code.
If you have issues with the ticketing process, try refreshing the concert page and manually entering the unique Promo Code in the “Submit Promo” line until the code is accepted, indicated by “$10 Bridgeview seats promo applied.” The venue map’s “Select a Section” option will appear with ONLY the $10 ticket seats in the Bridgeview L/R Rear sections.
Community Access Tickets MUST be picked up at WILL CALL during on-site Box Office hours and at least 30 minutes before the concert is scheduled to start.

RMS MUSIC

RMS Music Director Mr. E.K. invites interested Students to drop-in the Music Room/Auditorium during 7th Period Music. No music experience is required.

6th Graders will be enrolled in a Music Class in either 1st OR 2nd Semester . If your 6th Grader is interested in joining RMS Band or Orchestra in addition to 6th Grade Music, please contact your School Counselor.
Interested 7th and 8th Graders, may also contact their School Counselors.

The Band and Orchestra schedule for 2022-2023 is:

Band/ Jazz (Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion, Piano): Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:19 – 4:19 PM.
Orchestra (Strings): Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:19 – 4:19 PM.
There will be a late bus for 7th Period Students.
