VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS SATURDAY, July 16 (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM) for the RooFriends Parking Fundraiser for the
The annual San Diego Pride Parade is the largest single-day civic event in the region and is among the largest in the United States, attracting over 300,000 people.
Saturday, July 16: The San Diego Pride Parade starts nearby RMS at 10:00 AM on University Ave. RooFriends will open the campus at the Upas St. school gate at 9:00 AM to invite Pride visitors to park. Volunteers help by greeting visitors, spinning signs, operating as cashiers and direct traffic on campus. Please sign-up!!
A Message from the RooFriends Parking Committee: “This Saturday’s parking fundraiser may be the last of Summer 2022. Despite our assumptions (based on pre-Covid data of San Diego Zoo admission levels, Balboa Park events, etc) that the Zoo and Balboa Park would be very busy this summer and we would profit from parking hundreds of overflow cars, that has not been the case.
If RMS Community Volunteers step up for this Saturday, we may not need to hire staff. We hope to cover the NEW annual cost of SDUSD’s “facilities rental fee” so that we can schedule parking fundraisers for the 2022-2023 school year. THANK YOU to all the Volunteers who contributed their time and can-do spirit this past Spring and Summer. We hope MORE of the RMS Community will join the effort to raise funds for RMS Students’ enrichment education programs.”
MORE VOLUNTEERS = MORE FUNDING for RMS Student Programs!!
Without Volunteers, we hire & pay personnelor may have to cancel the activity.
Volunteers are a major factor in the success of running the day-of operations of the Parking Fundraisers: cashiers, greeters, traffic directors and runners. Join RooFriends in the effort to fund AfterSchool Enrichment (ASE), Library Services, Teachers’ Classroom Grants and more!!
PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH ANY GROUPS YOU KNOW WHO ARE LOOKING FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES!!
Thanks for Supporting RooFriends and RMS Student Programs!!
The Friends of Roosevelt Foundation is comprised of parents, guardians and community volunteers who raise funds to fill some of the gaps left by inadequate public funding and provide the resources needed for our students to receive the best possible educational experience. We currently have 2 open board positions and are looking for diverse voices to represent our diverse student body. Thanks for your interest!!
