REMINDERS for RMS MUSIC STUDENTS & FAMILIES

NO 7th Period Band or Orchestra on Monday (June 13) or Tuesday (June 14). Turn-in instruments and music books, etc. directly to the Music Room, Library or the School Office during regular school hours. To borrow instruments over the summer, please make arrangements with Mr. E.K. (neliaskocivar@sandi.net).

Please SIGN-UP for the RooFriends Independence Weekend Parking Fundraiser (July 2, 2022 | 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM). Designate “Music Boosters” as your RMS Cause in the sign-up process. Incoming families are welcome! Students can volunteer, too!!

RMS Music Summer Camp Registration is OPEN

ALL MIDDLE SCHOOLERS ARE WELCOME to register for RMS Summer Instrumental Music Camp 2022, especially our incoming 6th Graders, current music students and any RMS Students interested in RMS Music. RMS Summer School/ Extended School Year (ESY) and PrimeTime Students are welcome, too. NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!

RMS Summer Instrumental Music Camp: June 27 – July 15, 2022 (Monday-Friday).

Step 1: Registration (Select Orchestra or Band).
- RMS Summer Instrumental Music: Orchestra/Strings (Level Up). 1:00-3:00 PM, 30 students.
- RMS Summer Instrumental Music (Level Up): Band. 3:00-5:00 PM, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion, 30 students.
- If you have issues with the SDUSD Level Up registration process:
  - Please continue to Step 2: Complete and submit the “RMS Summer Instrumental Music Survey” so that RMS Music is aware that you are interested.
  - Contact Level Up: 619-725-7329 (Call Center) or lsheldo1@sandi.net/ taviles@sandi.net
  - Contact RMS Music Boosters: roofriendsmusicboosters@gmail.com.

Step 2: Complete and submit the RMS Summer Instrumental Music Survey.
- Select your musical preferences, let us know what your attendance availability is, etc.
- Musical instruments are available in the RMS Music inventory.

Step 3 (Current RMS Students): If you are interested in signing up for 7th Period Elective Band or Orchestra for 2022-2023, please complete and submit the RMS Elective Form for 2022-2023. 7th Period Music enrollment for Rising 6th Graders will be available August/September 2022.

NEW MUSIC STUDENTS

Consider participating in RMS Summer Instrumental Music Camp as an introduction to your Middle School. Meet other RMS Students, get familiar with the campus and make friends while making music!!

It’s not too early to start thinking about what instrument you would like to learn for Band or Orchestra. Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion Instruments are all available in the RMS Music Room Inventory. Our Music Education partners San Diego Symphony and Advocates for Classical Music encourage you to explore your choices for musical instruments.
