Music Director Rafael Payare and the Orchestra will have you seeing in orchestral technicolor after hearing Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. From the opening of “Promenade” to the majestic “Great Gate of Kiev,” this is a showpiece of the repertoire. Plus, the entrancing optical artwork of the late Carlos Cruz-Diez is the inspiration for fellow Venezuelan Reinaldo Moya’s colorful concerto featuring the virtuosic pianist Joyce Yang.
