Purple UP! for Military Children!
Each year, the month of April is recognized as Month of the Military Child – a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families worldwide, with an emphasis on the experience of the children of military members serving at home and overseas.
Month of the Military Child is sponsored by the Department of Defense Military Community and Family Policy and supported by many other organizations such as the DoDEA.
Roosevelt IB MS is proud to support all of our military-connected students and their families this month and throughout the year. To show our support, we will be providing a special treat (DONUTS!!) this Thursday morning, April 21 at 8:00 AM to military kids! Please encourage your kids to wear purple or their favorite military service gear!
Why is PURPLE a common theme for the Month of the Military Child?
- Purple was chosen because it symbolizes all branches of the military, a combination of Army Green, Air Force Blue, Coast Guard Blue, Marine Red and Navy Blue.
