CHICAGO THE MUSICAL IN CONCERT 10/22 | CHICAGO THE MUSICAL IN CONCERT 10/23:  A five-member cast of Broadway performers and a full symphony orchestra, including every song from the original score and spoken dialogue. 

PETER AND THE WOLF 10/23: The classic “symphonic fairy tale” by Serge Prokofiev, narrated by spoken word artist Gill Sotu.

A SWINGIN’ AFFAIR: Music of John Coltrane And Lee Morgan 10/24: San Diego Symphony’s Jazz curator Gilbert Castellanos (trumpet) pays tribute to two giants of Jazz & Swing.

FATE NOW CONQUERS 10/29 | FATE NOW CONQUERS 10/30: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 is the centerpiece of this concert which includes a short work by American composer Carlos Simon, inspired by Beethoven’s writings on the inevitability of fate. Pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk is featured in Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.  

OFRENDA: A DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CELEBRATION 10/31: Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar. Traditional music and dances including “La Bruja” from Veracruz, “Retablo Purépecha” from Michoacán, music from Disney’s “Coco” and Mexican artists Juan Gabriel, Selena, Pedro Infante and José Alfredo Jiménez.

EDO DE WAART & THE RUSSIAN ROMANTICS 11/13 | EDO DE WAART 11/14: Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances. Pianist Simon Trpčeski performs Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
