Open enrollment sign-up for the SDUSD Summer Experience Recovery Program is now available for ANY interested student! Registration is open until May 25, 2021.

ONSITE: Secondary Summer Experience

The Secondary Summer Experience is our onsite summer school academic program for grades 6-12. It is centered around project-based learning across the four core content areas: science, math, English language arts, and history/social science. Educators will facilitate projects to reconnect students to learning, advance their depth of knowledge in prioritized standards, and create cross-content connections that provide students with opportunities to engage in hands-on, minds-on learning alongside a community or industry partner.

Classes are taught by San Diego Unified educators at designated school sites. Education specialists will be assigned to sites to help support staff in meeting the needs of all learners
ESY services will be provided at pre-identified school sites to students who have ESY services as part of their IEP.

Middle School: June 21 – July 16, 4 hours, 20 minutes per day (MORNING).

Students will earn elective/enrichment credits.

High School, TWO sessions: June 21-July 9 / July 12 -July 30, 4 hours, 20 minutes per day (MORNING).

Students needing to remediate grades may earn up to 2 credits per session.
Students who DO NOT need to remediate grades but still want to participate will earn elective credits.

ONLINE: Secondary iHigh

The middle and high school online program will run through iHigh using the Edgenuity curriculum. In addition to courses required for grade remediation and credit recovery, middle and high school students will also have access to iHigh online enrichment courses.

Classes are self-paced through Edgenuity and learning facilitated and supported by San Diego Unified.
June 21 – July 30, MORNING. Hours per day will vary based on course selection.

Enrichment Opportunities (Enrollment open late May 2021)

While the most rewarding learning experiences will come from our amazing educators, we are also partnering with the San Diego Foundation and dozens of local nonprofits to provide students with afternoon enrichment opportunities at no cost to families throughout the city. Summer enrichment programming offered by our VAPA, CCTE, and community partners will be available throughout June, July, and August 2021. Enrichment opportunities will include sports camps, STEAM-based experiences, access to UCSD Extension courses, and UC Scout online AP courses. All enrichment opportunities will be available for enrollment on the Level Up SD website late May 2021: www.levelupsandiego.org
