RMS Music is expanding on the unique opportunity for virtual learning by combining it with the International Baccalaureate philosophy to create our own “Travel The World” music program. To launch our musical journey, RMS Music invites the RMS Community to join us on our first adventure, “Let’s Go: Mexico.”
We encourage ALL RMS Families, especially our Band, Orchestra and all 6th Grade Music Students (Quarters 1-4), to enjoy San Diego’s Center for World Music FREE online concert “Regional Mexican Music Featuring Hermanos Herrera” THIS SUNDAY, January 31 at 2:00 PM. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the live-stream concert.

This 50-minute live-hosted concert will explore Mexican regional music: son jarocho, son huasteco and accordion-based norteño music from northern Mexico. Hermanos Herrera will discuss each genre’s history and stylistic differences as well as answer questions about their instruments, music style, and the personal and social significance of their music. Bring your dancing shoes; this promises to be a fun and educational music-filled presentation!
