Right before all the school and restaurant closures, on March 4th, we had a successful RooFriends Social at Original 40 Brewing Company, were a portion of the sales was being donated to RooFriends. After everything closed down, RooFriends let the owner of Original 40 know that, in support of our greater North Park community and given the current health and economic crisis, we understood if he could not move forward with the donation of sales. However, he has let me know that, while incredibly appreciative of our offer, he feels very strongly about sticking to our commitment and helping out our Roosevelt Community and will be donating the $625 we raised to our nonprofit. He specifically wrote, “We are delighted to contribute. It’s a big part of who we are and during these times more than ever we want to give and spread goodwill.”
We write this to let everyone know THIS is the amazing community we live in – the small businesses who live and work in the neighborhood and give back in so many ways. I also wanted to let you know if you’d like to support Original 40 back they are open Monday through Friday 2 PM to 7:30 PM Saturdays and Sundays 1 PM to 7:30 PM offering food and beer to go.
